It’s finally out! The KDL70 Sony Bravia XBR3 has been released and KDL70 has the largest screen of all models in the Sony Bravia XBR3 range. This HDTV will most likely be seen in large social establishments due to the size of it’s screen. Still, there will be a home enthusiast or two who is lucky enough to have the KDL70 in their home and they will certainly be getting a high quality HDTV.

The KDL70 is the worlds very first 70 inch flat panel HDTV and although the KDL70 is far from cheap, it is actually selling out at a number of retail outlets.  Sony has thrown just about every useful feature you will need into the KDL70. You will be able to take full advantage of high definition TV and satellite broadcasts through one of the multiple HDMI ports on the KDL70.

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) on the KDL70 also enables you to see a huge difference with a multitude of entertainment devices. HDMI provides an uncompressed all digital audio and video interface between the KDL70 devices such as Blu-Ray Disc players and the latest game consoles. This Sony Bravia XBR3 is capable of displaying images at a resolution of 1920*1080.

As you would expect with the analogue signals going the way of the dinosaur, the KDL70 is designed to pick up unscrambled digital transmissions. The KDL70 has a QAM demodulator built in to allow you to pick digital TV signals. This means if you are upgrading from a standard analogue television with no external equipment such as a cable or set top box, you will have more channels to watch. The remote control for this HDTV is able to control a number of devices that are not even manufactured by Sony and has a vast array of functions.

Although this Sony Bravia XBR3 has a crisp picture, this HDTV also has fantastic sound especially when watching films or listening to music. The three sound systems integrated into the TV delivery sound with a significant impact and these are Dolby Surround, BBE Digital and SRS TruSurround XT. The additions to the audio on the KDL70 enhance your viewing experience and help to really draw you in to what you are watching.

The KDL70 Sony Bravia XBR3 also delivers great images with the Bravia Engine that has a picture quality enhancing circuit called Digital Reality Creation. The technology has improved since Sony first integrated it into their HDTV’s. The Bravia Engine can be adjusted based on the performance of video devices you decide to connect to the KDL70 enabling you to receive the highest quality image.

On looking around for the KDL70, I have found ABT to be one of the best retailers for this HDTV (and they actually had it in stock when I last checked). You can check if they have one in stock by clicking here.
